The Inn At Irving Place

Originally built in 1834, three single family brownstones sat at the corner of 17th and Irving Place. Over the years, the corner brownstone was torn down and a small apartment building was built in its place. The two remaining brownstones have stood the test of time, they now create The Inn.

While once combined as a single family home, the two brownstones also housed everything from apartments, The Ingersol Mens Club, a Speak Easy, Beauty Parlor and Day Spa. After completion of a three year renovation, The Inn at Irving Place opened its door in December of 1994.

Our lobby is reminiscent of grand European-style manor houses, captivating guests with the artistry and craftmanship of its decor. Venitian style frescos provide an elegant back-drop for the marble, checkerboard floor, mahogany reception desk, and hand-finished tufted rugs.

A spectacular staircase of wrought iron and mohagony leads from the lobby to the Inn's five meeting rooms. Framing the staircase is a 16-century tapestry inspired by old-world Belgian design and illuminated by a wrought-iron lantern-style chandelier.

At the heart of the exquisite lobby is a massive, handcrafted stone fireplace with beamed mantel and mantel clock. Gathering at the fireplace after a busy day, guests relax and enjoy the warmth and peacefulness of the surroundings.

In the Hearth Room, just off the lobby, guests of The Inn at Fox Hollow are welcome to visit the complimentary American breakfast buffet every morning. Monday through Thursday evenings, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and dinner are served.

The beamed two-story room provides the perfect atmosphere for starting the day or unwinding and socializing in the evening. Comfortable seating and awrm furnishings give the room a residential feel for guests seeking the comforts of home.

The Inn offers guests and tranquil and private respite from the hustle and bustle of big city hotels, in a lovely setting conducive to both business and leisure.

For your enjoyment, an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, located in our private courtyard, is available during the summer months. There are gas grills and wrought iron tables and chairs, located throughout the courtyard, to have dinner al fresco during your stay.
