Gramercy Park Hotel New York

Hotel Description

General Description

Location. A Bohemian legend, the Gramercy Park Hotel, rises above Lexington Avenue in New York, N.Y. The hotel is across the street from Gramercy Park. New York City's Greenwich Village is eight blocks away. This high-rise hotel is located one block from Theodore Roosevelt's birthplace. Union Square is four blocks from the hotel.

Hotel Features. This property features checkered Moroccan tile, swirls of patterned carpets, red velvet curtains set against lumber pillars and Belle Époque décor framing Italian stone fireplaces. Contemporary work by artists including Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst further complete the Bohemian aura.

Wakiya, the hotel's onsite restaurant offers a fresh style of Chinese cooking and Dim Sum brunches on the weekends. The popular Rose and Jade Bar touts a wood-burning fireplace and a walnut bar opposite a custom-designed pool table.

Aerospace, the hotel's health club, houses cardiovascular and and weight-training equipment. Personal trainers are available by appointment. Aerospa offers massage therapies, body wraps, and a complete menu of beauty treatments. The hotel's business center contains one computer. Dramatically designed function space accommodates events.

Guestrooms. The Gramercy Park Hotel features unique layouts throughout each of its 184 guestrooms. Rooms afford views of Gramercy Park, Lexington Avenue or the courtyard. Premium bedding includes feather mattresses, 400-thread count Frette Italian linens, and down comforters and pillows.

Select rooms boast mahogany bathrooms with separate deep-soaking tubs and showers. Flat-screen televisions, CD and DVD players, and MP3 adaptors provide technological appeal. The guestrooms' color palette was inspired by Raphael.

Distinctive art collections, imported, hand-tufted rugs and rose-hued velvet window treatments draped from custom-made bronze rods enhance the guestroom ambience. Stocked English bars feature European crystal stemware.

Expert Tip. The Private Roof Club and Garden offers exclusive indoor and outdoor space to guests of the hotel and to select, private members. This 16th-floor club features a retractable roof and city views. The Private Roof Club and Garden combines the charm of London's clubs with the Bohemian bustle of a Viennese coffee house.

Overview
An entirely new genre of hotel - one that will change the game again and raise the bar.

The Gramercy Park Hotel's Haute Bohemian heritage has been honored and renewed in the transformation by Ian Schrager. It is still the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City but better! It represents a sensuous vision of artful diversity. Bohemia reinvented for the 21st century with an original combination of styles, with great pieces of furniture and art and the extraordinary use of color.

The hotel rooms are complemented by the incredible public spaces, including the private Roof Club and Garden, located 16 stories above the city with retractable roof. An original and unique indoor and outdoor space, with custom furniture and a rare display of 20th century masterpieces from renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst is exclusive for guests of the hotel. A fine dining Chinese Restaurant, Wakiya, along with the Rose Bar and Jade Bar make this property unlike any other.
