Location. The Omni Detroit Hotel River Place is in Detroit, Mich., on the banks of the Detroit River, across which lies the city of Windsor, Ontario. The property is approximately nineteen miles from Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Sports venues Ford Field, Joe Louis Arena, and Comerica Park are all within two miles. A variety of American and Canadian casinos are within five miles of the property.

Decorated in the style of a European boutique hotel, the Omni Detroit Hotel River Place's reception area includes dark wooden furnishings and a fireplace. Fender's Tavern provides plasma televisions and a billiards table, while the menu offers appetizers, salads, sandwiches and steaks.
In season, Fender's guests dine on the waterfront patio, which features views of the river-walk. The fitness center includes cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and elliptical and stationary bikes. The hotel contains 8,000 square feet of event space for banquets and meetings. A complimentary hourly shuttle delivers guests to downtown attractions such as Greektown and Renaissance Center.

Junior Suites have all the same amenities as a deluxe room and are large 2-room suites and have a parlor with a work desk, queen-size sofa sleeper, televition and CD player.
The bedroom has a bedside television. A partition separates the bedroom from the living room. These suites also have a views of the courtyard or the river, on request. Deluxe rooms have all the same amenities as a standard room and feature 1 king or 2 queen beds. These rooms are larger and offer a full or partial river view. Penthouse suites have all the same amenities as a deluxe room and are located on the top floor of the hotel.
These suites have three levelt that also offer full or partial river views. The main level offers a marble half bath, a large parlor area with an oversized television, CD player, queen size sofa sleeper and wet bar. The second level offers a king size bed with a sitting/reading area, couch, television and telephone.
The third level offers a marble full bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub and shower. The presidential suite is also called the Governor's Suite and has all the same amenities as a deluxe room. This luxurious suite offers a wonderful river view, living room, formal dining room and a deep soaking whirlpool tub with separate shower stall.
This suite can also connect to a second king bedded bedroom. This suite must be booked with the hotel directly. The Stroh's and Brigg's suites are two bedroom suites with all the same amenties as a deluxe room and have river views. There is a large parlor area, sofa bed, 3 full bathrooms, wet bar and an in-room refreshment center.
